For this piece I built six panels and painted my friend Kat on each one. I wanted to experiment with showing more movement. I’ve been taking people pictures like 20 times and watching how they move. I got best in show at Scholastics for this piece. Oil on panel, each is 7"x7" and about 4" deep, they are almost like little cubes.
this is rather interesting artwork like always you've got nice colors. but in this case there smth even better, namely the "cat". i sooooo much like the motion blur, very well done. interesting artwork
I like the bottom middle panel. So few paintings show motion as effectively as that. The colors look a little like when you look at an lcd screen sideways, though. I think it could be your scanner. Great job, though, the hand on the top right are especially well done.

mind if i barage you with a couple of oil questions?
I usually hate painting cause it takes too long and i get frustrated with it, but seeing your work has inspired me to try taking it up again.
Seriously.
since people are a favorite subject of mine as well, i've been trying to paint my riends as well but I have the most trouble with skin tones, so i was wondering what colors do you usually use to make skin tones and how do you go about doing the shadows and stuff? Thanks for you help.
