Figure Study 5 by ARoulette Figure Study 5 by ARoulette
For this one I tried to use the watercolor more loosely.

Watercolor and graphite on paper, 18"x12".

wow! heavy but beautiful. it may seem a bit bizarre, but this looks like a morgue where the dead is like being draged by some magnetism to the window (or maybe is just having fun, eheh) :)

My favorite part is the balancing/inbalancing effect of the picture frame, very sophisticated! It gives balance to the composition, while the shadow of the frame actually mimics the falling sensation of the figure! Even more complex is that the figure's sight follows the edge of the picture towards the frame stabalizing the figure in their stare (as if it's the only thing keeping the figure on the table is the subject's actual focus!) definetely love the very tight and technical window blinds contrasting the downward pull of the abstract dripping watercolors.

Nice work, man. Love the colour scheme, and it's a really cool pose, like the angle a lot. It just has a nice feel to it.

You sketch such interesting poses... the top half of the body is amazing, and I love the watercolour drips at the end of the table - but my only concern would be that the legs and feet look a little stiff.
